Christmas!

I got some Christmas decorations up. Here are a few pics.

I also revamped the birdhouse. Shaylee kind of tore the other one apart, so I gave it a second try.

Bird House

I am really bad at taking before shots. Maybe it is because I do a lot of my crafting on a whim. I will be sitting in my living room, and BAM it will hit me. Before you know it I have project complete without taking a second thought to take a stinkin' before shot. Oh well. Yesterday I was sitting in my living room, thinking of ways to make it more festive. Well, like I said I looked around and BAM it hit me. I have this bird house that my father-in-law made out of the kindness of his heart, well actually it is made out of old barn wood, but you catch my drift. So, this charming little bird house kind of gets lost in the background. I wanted it to stand out, to shine. So, I mixed some water with some white paint, added a little festive wreath, and a bligging star. So, sorry no before shot, but here is the after:

Jewelry Box

When I was a sophomore in high school, my boyfriend at the time was in shop. He made me this precious little box, and I mainly kept notes from him in it. Well, that time is long past, notes that were in the box thrown out, but I just could not bring myself to throw it out. It was genuinely a nice wooden box. It would be such a waste to get rid of it. So, I revamped it, see what you think.

Now some have asked what is that painted on the top. It is an "S" that I downloaded from a fancy font from www.dafont.com , if you have not been to this fabulous website, you should. It has tons and tons of awesome fonts that you can download for free.

Felt Headband

I recently have been playing around with felt. It is easy to work with, bright fun colors, and awesome for the sewing beginner, which would be me. So, like I said I have been doing some projects here and there. I decided to spiffy up an old head band of mine with some fantastic felty flowers. This is how it turned out:

Pretty darn cute if I do say myself.

Tissue Paper Wreath

I saw this on someone else's blog a while ago... and I can't remember where it was, but anyway it looked really cute and easy so I decided to try my hand at a tissue paper wreath. I am still not sure that I like it, and it kinda reminds me of something that you would see at a fiesta. Oh well here we go.

Like I said, I am not totally in love with it, but I put the time and effort into it. So, I did hang it on the door for all to see.

We'll see if I can whip out something better for Christmas. In the mean time, this will do.

Zebra Chair

I wish that I had a before picture of this chair, but unfortunately I don't. I got this chair while I was out searching for treasures with my sister in-law, Shannyn. We were at the DI, when a couple brought in four dining room chairs in practically perfect condition, at ten bucks a piece. What a freakin deal! All they needed was some stinkin cute fabric. So, Shannyn and I each scooped one up, and this is what they turned out to be:

Hello gorgeous!!

First Timer!

Alright, so I have never refinished a piece of furniture, until now! I have this little side table, I use it as a nightstand.

Pretty dang boring, I know. But, this little guy serves his purpose. He gives me a place to put my alarm clock, my hair ties, bobby pins, a drink of water in case I decided I needed a drink in the middle of the night. All around, a very dependable, reliable nightstand. How can I possibly show my appreciation?! I decided he deserved a makeover!

So, I sanded and sanded and sanded, painted, sanded and stained.

The end result:
Ta da!!!

I don't know about you, but I am sure in love with it! This was just a small project, I look forward to doing much bigger projects. On the ajenda: headboard and dresser (they are sitting in my garage, begging for a makeover!) So, look for those projects to come!

Frames

One of the first things that I started making when I got into scrapbooking, crafting, etc. was frames. My husband is somewhat handy and he would go out to his dad's barn, whip me out a few to give me something to do. I would make them as gifts, put them up in the house, whatever. Just give me a frame, some stinkin' cute paper, accesories such as ribbon or buttons, and some modge podge, I am set for a good hour or two! Here are some that I made recently.

The last two are probably my favorite. I just love the paper. It is from a company called Scribble Scrabble. I picked it up in a pack at the Scrapbook expo this year. I bought alot of their paper, it was freakin cute!
